A lovely Jaeger LeCoultre 10 carat gold filled gentleman’s watch dating to 1954, in very good overall condition. This watch has a great vintage look and presents beautifully on the wrist. The manually wound movement is running strongly and keeping time. A new leather strap has been fitted and the crystal was replaced recently so this watch is ready to wear. It is signed on the case, dial and movement.
Case: 10 carat gold filled with a stainless steel screw back cover in very good condition. The outside of the rear cover is hallmarked as 10K gold filled bezel and the inside is signed "LeCoultre". The case measures approximately 34 mm across, excluding the crown and 43 mm from lug to lug. It shows the expected signs of responsible use over the years but absolutely no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to draw to your attention other than light surface scratches on the back of the case.
Dial: finished in antique white and signed "LeCoultre". Gold coloured batons with an Arabic number 12 mark the hours. The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear. I believe the dial may been restored some years ago as I would expect to see more ageing on a 66 year old watch.
Movement: LeCoultre cal. 810/AW LeCoultre movement with 17 jewels, running strongly and keeping time. The movement serial number dates the watch to 1954.
Strap: fitted with a new brown leather strap, which fitted to the watch measures approximately 215 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
