An Art Deco 14 carat solid gold Jaeger LeCoultre gents wristwatch manufactured in 1945 and in great overall condition. The classic case and dial present very well on the wrist and the freshly oiled and adjusted movement is running and keeping time. Please bear in mind that Art Deco gents watches from this period were made smaller than contemporary watches (see the dimensions given below) so this watch is also suitable for wear by a lady looking for a vintage watch with eye catching retro appeal.
Dial: in excellent condition, signed "LeCoultre Swiss" with gold coloured Arabic numerals and dots marking the hours. A recessed subsidiary seconds dial, is located just above the six o'clock position. The crystal is clean and clear. The dial has just been returned from professional restoration back to as it looked when new.
Case: 14 carat solid gold in very good condition, measuring approximately 21 mm across, excluding the crown and 36 mm in overall length. The inside of the case is hallmarked as 14K gold and signed "LeCoultre". The case shows the expected signs of use over the years but absolutely no signs of abuse or marks of any significance that I could see to draw to your attention. There is a presentation engraving on the rear cover.
Movement: high end Swiss, 17 jewel movement, signed “LeCoultre Co” just oiled and adjusted by my watchmaker, running strongly and keeping time. The serial number of the movement is dates the watch to 1945.
Strap: fitted a generic black leather strap, which attached to the watch measures approximately 207 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
