An absolutely fabulous Art Deco 18 carat solid white gold wristwatch made by Jaeger LeCoultre, dating 69 years ago to 1950 and in excellent overall condition. It has clearly received very little use over the years to have remained in such pristine condition. It is a rarely seen Jaeger LeCoultre model; over the last ten years I have only acquired four. It is a really beautiful watch, oozing with retro appeal. The dial is set with 17 genuine diamonds in white gold settings and the case has stunning hooded lugs, shaped into four teardrops at each end. Having just been professionally oiled and adjusted, the movement is running strongly and keeping time. A new strap has just been fitted so this watch is ready to wear. Please bear in mind that Art Deco gents watches from this period were made smaller than contemporary watches (see the dimensions given below) so this watch is also suitable for wear by a lady looking for a stunning vintage watch. It is signed on the case, dial and movement.
Dial: in pristine condition finished in satin silver and signed "LeCoultre". Seventeen genuine diamonds set in white gold casings mark the hours and a subsidiary seconds dial with cross hairs is located just above the six o'clock position. The crystal is clean and clear. The dial has just been returned from professional restoration back to as it looked when new.
Case: 18 carat solid white gold in excellent with hardly a m,ark on it due to infrequent use over the years. The case measures approximately 22 mm across, excluding the crown and 41 mm in overall length. The outside of the case is hallmarked as 18K gold and the inside is signed "LeCoultre".
Movement: high end Swiss cal. 438/4CW , 17 jewel movement, signed “LeCoultre Co”. It has just been professionally oiled and adjusted by Richard my watchmaker and is running perfectly and keeping time. The serial number dates the watch to 1950.
Strap: fitted with a new generic Swiss made black leather strap which attached to the watch measures approximately 211 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
