Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox stainless steel wrist alarm watch, dating to 1960, in very good original un-restored condition. This timepiece is the stainless steel Memovox which is not as widely available as the gold filled version so it is highly collectible. The case and factory original dial present well and the movement runs strongly and keeps time, with the alarm function working correctly. The dial has a sweep seconds hand and a an alarm arrow marker on the inner section of the two piece dial. The domed crowns, correct for the period, match. This fully functional watch is ready to wear and enjoy.
Dial: two tone satin silver finish which has darkened evenly with age over the last 59 years. It is signed “LeCoultre Memovox Swiss” with hours marked by silver coloured batons and Arabic numerals. The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear with some light scratches. The dial is showing inevitable patina but bearing in mind the age of this watch, the condtion is quite remarkable and in much too good a condition to consider any restoration which would only serve to diminish the value of this vintage timepiece.
Case: stainless steel, in good condition, measuring approximately 34 mm across, excluding the matching crowns and 43 mm in overall length. The inside of the rear cover is signed "LeCoultre Co.". The case shows the expected marks from use over the years but no blemishes of any significance that I could see to point out to you.
Movement: high quality 17 jewelled cal. K814 movement, signed "LeCoultre", running strongly and keeping time. The watch is wound and set by the lower crown and the alarm is wound and set by the upper crown. Both functions operate correctly. The serial number dates the watch to 1960.
Strap: new generic brown leather strap which attached to the watch, the strap measures approximately 210 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
