A 14 carat solid gold gentlemans' vintage manual watch manufactured by Longines and dating to 1954. In original un-restored condition, the classic case and dial present well and the movement is running strongly and keeping time. A new leather strap has just been fitted. The watch is is triple signed, on the dial, case, crown and movement.
Case: 14 carat solid gold in very good condition, presenting well on the wrist. The inside of the case is hallmarked as 14K gold and signed "Longines". It measures approximately 43 mm from lug to lug and 34 mm across, excluding the after market crown. The case shows the expected light marks from use over the years. All that I could see to point out to you is a small shallow ding on the back of the case.
Dial: factory original in good condition, finished in satin silver with hours marked by applied gold coloured batons and an Arabic number 12. The dial is signed "Longines Swiss" and bears the famous winged emblem. The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear. The dial is showing patina but as it presents so well on the wrist, I did not want to spoil the originality of this watch by having the dial restored.
Movement: crisp and clean Longines cal. 23ZS movement with 17 jewels set in solid gold casings, running well and keeping time. The serial number dates the watch to 1954.
Strap : fitted with a new generic brown leather strap, which attached to the watch measures approximately 215 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
