A classic 14 carat solid gold gentlemans' vintage manual watch manufactured by Longines in 1956. In great original un-restored condition, the case and factory original dial present very well and movement is running strongly and keeping time. The watch is triple signed, on the dial, case and movement. Longines manufactured some of the most attractive watches available to buy in the 1950's and early 1960's. Ten years ago I was able to buy several different models each month but today I rarely see them for sale. They must have disappeared into private collections. This one is a Longines classic which always sells well when I find one.
Case: 14 carat solid gold in great condition, presenting very well on the wrist. The inside and outside of the case are hallmarked as 14K gold and the inside is signed "Longines". It measures approximately 38 mm from lug to lug and 33 mm across, excluding the crown. The case shows the expected light marks from use over the years but absolutely no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance to point out to you.
Dial: factory original in great condition, finished in satin silver with hours marked by applied gold coloured batons. The dial is signed "Longines Swiss" and bears the famous Longines winged emblem. A subsidiary seconds dial is located just above 6 o'clock. The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear.
Movement: Longines cal. 19.4 movement with 17 jewels set in solid gold casings, running well and keeping time. The serial number dates the watch to 1956.
Strap : fitted with a generic "Kreisler" brown leather strap, which attached to the watch measures approximately 203mm from buckle tip to last hole.
