A 14 carat solid gold gentlemans' vintage manual watch manufactured by Longines and dating to 1965. In great original un-restored condition, the mid-size case has a gorgeous Florentine bezel and attractive champagne finish to the dial, looking stunning on the wrist. The watch is fitted with a genuine lizard calf strap. This timepiece is running strongly and keeping time. It is quadruple signed, on the dial, case, crown and movement. Longines manufactured some of the most attractive watches available to buy in the 1950's and early 1960's. Ten years ago I was able to buy several different models each month but today I rarely see them for sale. They must have disappeared into private collections.
Case: 14 carat solid gold in great condition, presenting very well on the wrist. The inside and outside of the case are hallmarked as 14K gold and the inside is signed "Longines". It is a gents mid size case, approximately 35 mm from lug to lug and 30 mm across, excluding the signed crown. The case shows the expected light marks from use over the years but absolutely no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance to point out to you.
Dial: factory original in amazing condition, finished in satin champagne with hours marked by applied gold coloured batons. The dial is signed "Longines Swiss" and bears the famous winged emblem. The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear.
Movement: Longines cal. 370 movement with 17 jewels set in solid gold casings, running well and keeping time. The serial number dates the watch to 1965.
Strap: fitted with a lightly used genuine lizard calf strap which attached to the watch measures approximately 204 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
