An Art Deco gents wristwatch manufactured by Jaeger LeCoultre in 1943. This watch is in good condition. The 10 carat gold filled case has beautiful curved lugs and presents well, as does the dial. The movement is running well and keeping time. Please bear in mind that Art Deco gents watches from this period were made much smaller than contemporary watches (see the dimensions given below) so this watch is suitable for wear by a gent or for a lady looking for a vintage watch oozing with retro appeal and elegance.
Dial: in very good condition, signed "LeCoultre" with gold coloured Arabic numerals and dots marking the hours and a sunken subsidiary seconds dial located just above the six o'clock. The crystal is clean and clear.
Case: 10 carat gold filled measuring approximately 20 mm across, excluding the crown and 38 mm in overall length. The outside of the case is hallmarked as 10K gold filled as is the inside which is also signed "LeCoultre" The case the expected light marks marks from use over seventy five years but no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to point out to you.
Movement: Swiss made 17 jewel movement, signed “LeCoultre Co”. It runs well with a good action and keeps time.The serial number dates the watch to 1943.
Strap: fitted with a new old stock generic black leather lizard grain strap, which attached to the watch measures approximately 186 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
