A Rolex Viceroy Oyster manual gentlemans' chronometer grade wristwatch dating to c1944. This model is a rare and highly sought after watch, ,presenting well, in good running condition and keeping time. The watch has a stainless steel case and solid gold bezel . It is signed four times, on the dial, case, movement and crown.
Case: made of stainless steel with a solid gold bezel, in good condition having been responsibly used over the years. The case measures approximately 29 mm across excluding the signed crown. Looking inside the rear cover, it is marked "Rolex SA." and "RWC Ltd." (Rolex Watch Company Ltd.) and numbered 3359, which is the case reference number and correct for this model. The case shows the inevitable marks from use over the years with some small marks to the back cover which has been polished. Please note that the watch has not been pressure tested; therefore the waterproof qualities of the case are not guaranteed.
Dial: "California" finish with Roman numerals on the upper section of the dial and Arabic numerals on the lower half. It is in great condition having been sympathetically restored to retain the vintage appearance of this 75 year old watch. Finished in salmon pink, it bears the the Rolex coronet and is signed "Rolex Oyster Viceroy Chronometer". The crystal is clean and clear.
Movement: Rolex Superbalance chronometer grade 17 jewel movement, signed "Rolex Chronometer" running and keeping time.
Strap: fitted with a lightly used genuine crocodile calf strap which attached to the watch measures approximately 220 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
