Sorry I am sold
This Bulova Accutron Deep Sea diver's calendar watch from 1970 is one of the rarely seen models from the Accutron range and as a consequence is highly sought after by collectors. This watch is in great original condition with a fabulous factory original un-restored dial, original crown and stainless steel case with a rotating "Pepsi" bezel. The watch has just been overhauled by a Bulova specialist so it is functioning perfectly and keeping time. The watch issigned four times, on the case, dial, crown and movement. Please note that replacement batteries are readily available.
Case: stainless steel in very good condition with the expected marks from use but absolutely no blemishes of significance that I could see to draw to your attention. It measures approximately 46 mm from lug to lug and 40 mm across excluding the signed crown. The outside of the rear cover is marked " Bulova " and "N0" which signifies the year of manufacture (1970). Please note that although the case is marked as waterproof, it has not been pressure tested so I cannot provide any guarantee about the water resisting quality of this vintage watch. In fact I would no more dive or swim wearing a vintage watch than I would drive a 50 year old E Type Jaguar at high speed on a motorway for any length of time!
Dial: rarely seen in such great original un-restored condition for a watch of this age. It is finished in matt black with beautifully patinated luminous dots and batons. The crystal is clean and clear.
Movement: cal. 2181 Tuning Fork movement, running strongly and keeping time. If you hold it to your ear you can hear it humming. The calendar function works correctly. The watch was fully serviced in 2016 and having developed a fault while in my ownership has just come back from an overhaul by an Accutron specialist, so this watch should run for years before it requires another service.
Strap : new generic black leather strap which fitted to the watch measures approximately 211 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
