Sorry this watch has been purchased
An extremely rare Bulova Accutron "Deep Sea A" Diver's Watch, manufactured in 1970. Having been an avid collector of Bulova Accutron watches for many years, although I have had several of the Pepsi style Deep Sea models, this is the first variant of the Diver's model I have managed to acquire. And it is in great completely original un-restored condition. This watch will be of significant interest to Bulova Accutron collectors. It has a large cushion style stainless steel case, a popular style in the 1970's, measuring a whopping 42mm across. It has a bull's eye style dial, a dark centre and a rotating outer lapsed time bezel, adjusted by turning the upper crown. The orange shaded section is turned to display up to 15 minutes elapsed time. When manufactured, the watch was claimed to be water resistant for up to 666 feet. The watch has a quick set day/date function and is powered by the cal. 2182 Bulova electric Tuning Fork mechanism. This watch is in great overall condition, was serviced in July 2018, runs well and keeps time. It is signed on the case, dial, movement and two crowns. Replacement batteries are readily availabe for this watch.
Case: stainless steel in very good condition. It measures approximately 45 mm from lug to lug and 42 mm across, excluding the signed crowns. The case shows the inevitable signs of responsible use over the years but no blemishes of any significance that I could see to point out to you. There is a very faint number on scratched to the back of the case, easily polished out if desired. The reference "N0" on the back of the case shows the watch to have been manufactured in 1970.
Dial: original and un-restored in amazing condition. It is signed "Accutron Deep Sea 666 feet" and displays the tuning fork emblem. The outer bezel is showing even patina with the orange elased time indicator having faded evenly to a yellow hue, giving it a great vintage appearance. The crystal is clean and clear.
Movement: cal. 2182 Accutron Tuning Fork movement, serviced in July 2018, running perfectly and keeping time. If you hold the watch to your ear you can hear it humming. The quick set date function is operated by turning the lower crown. The time is adjusted by pulling out and turning the lower crown. The outer bezel is adjusted by turning the upper crown. Please note that it should not be assumed that any vintage watch of this age has retained its water resistant capabilities
Bracelet: fitted with a generic fully adjustable stainless steel mesh style bracelet.
