SOLD JAEGER LECOULTRE 14K Solid Gold Gents Calendar Watch 1953

A stunning and rare 14 carat solid gold gentlemans' manual calendar wristwatch manufactured by Jaeger LeCoultre in 1953. At first sight, this watch looks like a Memovox wrist alarm as it has the same centre disc with an arrow. But the arrow indicates the date not the time an alarm will activate. I have never owned this model before so I was delighted to find This watch in such great condition. The case and two tone dial present very well and the movement is running strongly and keeping time. The watch is triple signed, on the dial, case and movement. It is fitted with a good quality genuine lizard calf strap and the crystal was replaced recently so this fabulous watch is ready to wear.

Case: 14 carat solid gold in very good condition, measuring approximately 33 mm across and 38 mm from lug to lug. The inside of the case is signed "LeCoultre" and hallmarked as 14 carat solid gold, as is the outside . The case shows the inevitable signs of use over the years but absolutely no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to draw to your attention. It looks as if a presentation engraving may have been removed.

Dial: two tone gold and black finish with hours marked by gold coloured batons and the date track by gold coloured Arabic numerals. The dial is signed "LeCoultre Swiss". The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear.

Movement: cal. 810/AW LeCoultre 17 jewel movement running strongly and keeping time. The date is quick set, adjusted by pressing the crown. The serial number dates the watch to 1953.

Strap: fitted with a good quality "IW Suisse" stitched and lightly padded genuine lizard calf strap which attached to the watch measures approximately 210 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
