Sorry I have been purchased
A 9 carat solid gold gentlemans' automatic bumper wristwatch manufactured by Jaeger LeCoultre in 1955 for the European market. In great overall condition, the watch has a classic case and dial, presenting very well indeed on the wrist, running strongly and keeping time.
Case: 9 carat solid gold, in very good condition measuring approximately 33 mm across excluding the crown and 42 mm from lug to lug. The inside of the case is hallmarked as 9 carat solid gold with a London assay and signed "DTE" (standing for De Trevars Ltd. the London based company which manufactured cases for Jaeger LeCoultre during the 1950's/60's) . The case shows the inevitable signs of careful use over the years but no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to draw to your attention. There is a presentation engraving on the rear cover.
Dial: satin silver finish with hours marked by applied gold coloured batons. The dial is signed "Jaeger LeCoultre Automatique Swiss Made". A subsidiary seconds dial with cross hairs is located just above 6 o'clock. The hands are in very good shape and the crystal is clean and clear. The dial has just been returned from restoration back to as it looked when new.
Movement: crisp and clean Jaeger LeCoultre 17 jewel automatic bumper movement, running strongly and keeping time. The serial number dates the watch to 1955.
Strap: fitted with a Hirsch "Traveller" brown leather strap which attached to the watch measures approximately 212 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
