SOLD JAEGER LECOULTRE CHRONOGRAPH Stainless Steel Vintage Watch 1950's

Jaeger LeCoultre stainless steel gents vintage three register chronograph watch manufactured for the USA market during the mid 1950’s and housing the Valjoux 72 chronograph movement, a high end mechanism also used in early Rolex Daytona's, Zenith, Breitling and Tag Heur watches. This watch is in excellent original condition, presenting very well indeed, running strongly and keeping time with the chronograph functions operating correctly. A new leather strap has been fitted and the crystal has recently been replaced so this great watch is ready to wear. The watch is triple signed on the case, dial and movement.

Dial: in excellent original condition with hardly a sign of ageing, signed "LeCoultre” with gold coloured Arabic numerals marking the hours. The seconds register is located at 9 o'clock and the register at 3 o'clock shows minutes elapsed and the register shows hours elapsed, the latter two functioning when the stop watch is activated. The sweep hand operates as the seconds stop watch when the chronograph function is operating.

Case: stainless steel, in very good condition with crisp sharp edges, measuring approximately 35 mm across, excluding the crown. The inside of the rear cover is signed LeCoultre. There are the expected signs of use over the years absolutely no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to draw to your attention.

Movement: crisp and clean Valjoux cal. 72, signed "LeCoultre Watch Co. with 17 jewels, running strongly and keeping time. It winds and sets smoothly. The top button on the side of the watch starts the chronograph function and the lower button stops the it and a second push resets it to zero.

Strap: fitted with a new generic black leather strap.
