Sorry I have been purchased
10 carat gold filled Memovox alarm watch from Jaeger LeCoultre, dating to 1954, in excellent overall condition. This watch was especially manufactured by Jaeger LeCoultre for presentation by Ford of America Motor Company to its top performing sales employees. The watch bears the Ford logo on the dial. It is a rare and collectible watch in great condition. This model is one of the very early versions of the alarm watch with a larger case than most of the early wrist alarm watches seen for sale, measuring approximately 34 mm in diameter as opposed to 32 mm. The watch has an elegant case with flared lugs The watch is running strongly and keeping time, with the alarm function working perfectly.
Case: 10 carat gold filled in very good condition, measuring approximately 34 mm across, excluding the crowns and 41 mm in overall length. The inside of the rear cover is signed "LeCoultre" and hallmarked as 10K gold filled. The case shows the expected signs of careful and probably infrequent use during well over 60 years but no signs of abuse, dents or significant scratches that I could see to point out to you.
Dial: signed “LeCoultre Wrist Alarm” and "Ford" at 12 o'clock. Gold coloured batons and Arabic numerals mark the hours. The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear. The dial has a few very light marks on it. I believe it may have received restoration a few years ago.
Movement: crisp and clean 17 jewelled manual cal. 814 movement, signed "LeCoultre", freshly oiled and adjusted, running strongly and keeping time. The watch is wound and set by the lower crown and the alarm is wound and set by the upper crown. Both functions operate correctly. The serial number dates the watch to 1954.
Strap: fitted with a generic brown leather strap which attached to the watch measures approximately 212 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
