An absolutely stunning vintage 14 carat solid gold gentlemans' manual wristwatch manufactured by Jaeger LeCoultre in c1958. This model , known as the "Pershing" is in excellent overall condition, runs strongly and keeps time. The case is an unusual and rare design. Although I have specialised in Jaeger LeCoultre watches for some years now, this is only the third of this model I have managed to acquire in over twelve years. It is quadruple signed, on the dial, case, crown and movement.
Case: 14 carat solid gold in excellent condition, measuring approximately 34 mm across, excluding the signed crown and 38 mm from lug to lug. The inside of the case is signed "LeCoultre Swiss" and is hallmarked as 14 carat solid gold as is the outside . The case shows the inevitable light signs of careful and probably infrequent use over the years but absolutely no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to draw to your attention.
Dial: finished in black enamel with hours marked by applied gold batons and Arabic numerals. The dial is signed "LeCoultre". The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear with light scratches.
Movement: LeCoultre 17 jewel cal. 480/CW movement, running strongly and keeping time.
Strap: fitted with a black crocodile strap. Please note that the strap fitted is not the one shown in the photos as when I inspected it I considered the condition was not good enough to leave it attached to the watch. As well as the strap fitted I will be sending the original strap to the buyer.
