Sorry I have been purchased
A fabulous, collectible Longines 10 carat white gold filled gentlemans' manual watch in great overall condition, dating to 1958. It has a beautiful engineered swirled dial which looks stunning. The movement, serviced earlier this year, is running perfectly and keeping time. This work costs around £200 when carried out by an independent horologist so please factor in that the next service should not be required for several years when considering my competitive asking price for this watch. Having just been fitted with a new good quality leather strap, this watch is ready for immediate use. The watch is quadruple signed, on the dial, case, crown and movement.
I have only acquired this model a few times before, each one manufactured in 1958 and they attracted considerable interest each time I listed one for sale. One of the pleasures about collecting Longines watches is that during the hey day of the manual watch, the company regularly brought out new and unusual designs but only in small numbers. Consequently they are now hard to find.
Dial: in great condition, it has a fabulous engineered swirled design with hours marked by applied bevelled baton numerals. The elegant hands are in very good shape. "Longines" is signed on the dial and it also bears the Longines winged emblem. The crystal is clean and clear.
Case: 10 carat white gold filled in very good condition with the expected signs of use this watch has received over the last 60 years but no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to draw to your attention. The inside of the case is signed Longines and also hallmarked as 10K gold filled. It measures approximately 40 mm from lug to lug and 33 mm across, excluding the signed crown.
Movement: Longines cal. 23Z manual movement with 17 jewels set in solid gold casings. Having just been professionally oiled and adjusted, the movement is running perfectly and keeping time. The serial number dates the watch to 1958.
Strap: new generic black leather lizard grain strap which fitted to the watch measures approximately 211 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
