Wakmann are well known for their chronograph watches and I have owned several but I never realised that Wakmann manufactured a wrist alarm watch. So when I came across this one for sale in fabulous original condition the collector in me took over and I just had to buy it. The watch presents very well indeed and the movement is running perfectly and keeping time with the alarm function working correctly. It is signed on the case, dial and movement. Do not let the opportunity to buy this great watch pass you by as you may never see another.
Case: gold plated with a stainless steel back in very good condition, measuring approximately 33 mmacross, excluding the original matching crowns and 42 mm from lug to lug. The inside of the cover is signed "Wakmann". This watch has received little use over the years so there is absolutely no signs of abuse, dents or scratches of any significance that I could see to point out to you.
Dial: original factory finish in excellent condition, signed “Wakmann Alarm 17 Incabloc Swiss Made" with applied gold coloured batons and Arabic numerals marking the hours.The hands are in very good condition and the crystal is clean and clear.
Movement: Wakmann manual movement with 17jewels running well and keeping time with the alarm function working correctly. I could not show photos of the movement as the cover as it is on too tight for me to remove it without running the risk damaging the case. Please note that unlike Jaeger LeCoultre wrist alarm watches, to activate the alarm you need to keep the crown pulled out into the winding position. This is a better design as if you have wound the alarm you can control when you wish to activate it to set off the alarm.
Strap: fitted with a new brown leather strap which attached to the watch measures approximately 222 mm from buckle tip to last hole.
